To hear Nutcracker music tells me ChRiStMaS is ApPrOaChInG! Christmas is almost here!!
well anyways... today i signed up to supervise the children in NYCB's Nutcracker backstage. Let me just say it was awesome! i got paid $16 to pretty much just watch the show in the wings!!<3>children were all in the right places! let me just say it is a tough job the first time cause you really dont know where you are and what times the children need to be on stage at. I was frightened because Peter Martins, the director of NYCB, was standing backstage the whole timeand he knows every little thing that happens. Like this morning, the bedboy, person who moves the bed around stage, didn't show up, luckly my friend who did it last year was there today and was able to fill in! I don't even know what Peter would have done if she wasn't there? would he have gotten under that bed? Prolly not haha! I also had to paint the soldier's and polli's cheeks, my fingers are still red after 5 times of washing them! And if you don't paint it just right they ask you to do it again. Out of the 15 boys/girl's cheeks i did only one girl came back for me to do it again cause her MOM didnt like it. Pretty good for first time!=] The moms....end of story. haha they all wait around and are always in the way wanting to see their kid every second! ahhh. At least they aren't allowed past the dressing room! well anyways it was a lot of fun and i plan on doing more shows, there are 46 throughout the whole season! At my old studio I thought that doing 5 performances was a lot, but 46?!?!?! CRAZINESS!
Ta-Ta for now! My MoMmY is coming tomorrow.... so excited!!<3!>
xoxo Gabs.
P.S.-----> I recommend you go see the show, i believe it is very GoOd!
